The Actors Centre: February 27 2018
Join Val for a morning’s experiential study on three of Ibsen’s Women at The Actors Centre, Tuesday February 27th 10.30 am to 13.30 pm. The focus of this workshop will be on Nora from The Doll’s House, Hedda from Hedda Gabler, & Elvira from The Lady from the Sea.
Val has directed much Ibsen in her work as a teaching director in the leading UK drama schools.

The Nehru Centre: March 22 2018
Val is delighted to continue The Live Literature Company’s relationship with The Nehru Centre by accepting Sujit Bhattacharjee’s invitation to speak at his book launch on March 22nd 6pm to 9 pm at The Nehru Centre. Val is excited to continue the global focus of the Live Literature Company’s work.
Sujit’s book, My Journey from An Asian British to British Asian, is a fascinating read, which Val found a deeply interesting account of his life’s journey. We hope many of you can join us to celebrate this important book launch.

Circolo Italo Britannico, Venice: 2018
Val is delighted to continue the Live Literature Company’s European links by accepting an invitation to speak at the Circolo Italo Britannico in Venice again. This time the focus of her talk will be on EM Forster’s links with Italy.

The Performance Festival at The Victoria and Albert Museum: Sunday April 22 2018

The Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre.
Join The Live Literature Company for a fun and fascinating insight into the results of theatre censorship. This unique event will examine scenes by controversial 1960’s playwright Joe Orton, performed in both their censored and uncensored versions. Scenes will be read and performed by Edward Halsted, Wendy Morgan and Rosie Sheehy; directed by Valerie Doulton.

Val is delighted to continue The Live Literature Company’s relationship with the V & A. Val has previously staged Joe Orton’s work in a production of Funeral Games at The Lyric, Hammersmith.
Summer Shakespeare: 2018
Love Scenes from As You Like It with Songs is our entertaining summer Shakespeare adaptation. Drama students from Niagara University USA, as part of Val’s long-running study abroad programme, will again give the performances.
