Welcome to

THE LIVE LITERATURE COMPANY

Literature gives empathy and understanding.

The Live Literature Company was founded in 2002 by our Artistic Director Valerie Doulton. We are a leading literary and combined arts performance company staging work both in the UK and internationally. We stage both contemporary and classic drama, and we create new work from a wide range of writing. We also produce deeply resonant site-specific work connecting arts to place. We are Artistic Associates of TATE and often work in partnership with organisations including the British Library, the V&A Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Wales Millennium Centre to stage our work.

We have received funding from Arts Council England, TATE, the British Library, the V&A Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and Wales Millennium Centre to stage our work. We continue to seek external funding to support our work.
