Christmas 2017 Newsletter

Dear Members and Friends,

Thanks to all those who came to our sell-out success, the In Remembrance performance at The National Portrait Gallery. It was lovely to see you all. There was such a sense of occasion that day, with people who had attended the ceremony at the Cenotaph in the morning joining our audience too. I greeted everyone by saying we are ‘super glad and grateful’ to receive our first Arts Council Funding for this performance, which is another landmark for The Live Lit Co. The performance by Gregory Cox, Dave Fishley, Richard Hansell and Seiriol Tomos, with pianist Tessa Uys, was profound and moving. As we left the N.P.G. the bells of St. Martin in the Fields were ringing out all around us. It was such a memorable day.

Next we will be performing in April at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of their Performance Festival focused on censorship. I will direct the LLC in performances of the censored writing of Joe Orton next to the uncensored versions. We are delighted to be taking part, freedom of speech being at the heart of all we do at LLC. Please check the Forthcoming page of the website for news of the date and time which will be posted in the New Year.

In March we are again leading children’s groups for Shakespeare Week with our Introduction to Shakespeare for Children workshops. Thank you so much for your support. 2017 our 15th Anniversary year, has been a great year for the Company. Meanwhile, wishing everyone a joyful festive season and a good year in 2018. I look forward to seeing you then.

Warm Wishes,

Your Artistic Director
